2019 Jingle Bear 5K - FAQ Info below:
1. What do I get for my entry fee?
All Jingle Bear 5K participants receive a long sleeve technical T-shirt if registered before 12/2/2019, a chance to win one of many door prizes and will receive a Santa hat. Late registrants (after December 2nd) are not guaranteed to receive their T-shirts on race day and will have to pick them up at Midwest Events or for a $5 fee we can mail it to you. Age Group Awards will be given out to M/F 3 deep, in 10 - year age groups. Kid's 150 Meter Fun Run participants receive a 1st place medal and a #1 race bib.
2. How can I sign up for the events?
Online registration is now open at www.midwestevents.com or you can download a mail in entry form on the Registration page.
3. Is the race event walker friendly?
Yes, we will have plenty of participants that will walk. Nordic walkers are also welcomed. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the race corral at the start so as not to impede the faster runners.
4. Are there refunds if I cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib no? Can I defer my entry?
There are absolutely No refunds, No exceptions. But transfers are allowed!
5. Are baby joggers or strollers or pet dogs allowed during the race?
If you choose to run with a baby jogger or a pet dog, you must seed yourself in the back of all runners. It is your responsibility to make sure the baby jogger or pet dog does not impede other runners as well as you must take extra precaution as to your safety, your child's safety and the safety of the runners around you.
6. Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc.) allowed during the race?
The use of headphones are discouraged, but are allowed, however we do recommend that runners use extreme precaution when using headphones during the race event for safety reasons. The course is on the bike/pedestrian pathway that parallels Lake Ave. If you choose to run on Lake Ave. please be advised that Lake Ave. is not closed to traffic, so RUN WITH CAUTION!! There are volunteers on the course, but continue to RUN WITH CAUTION!!
7. When is the last day to register?
The last day to register “online” is: Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11:59 pm CST at www.midwestevents.com
You may register after online registration closes at Midwest Events, 1890 Whitaker Street, White Bear Lake, MN 55110 651-251-5494 on Friday, December 6th, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm and on race day (Saturday) morning December 7th at the VFWPost 1782, 4496 Lake Ave. South, White Bear Lake, MN, from 7:15 am to 8:30 am.
8. Where is packet pick up?
You can pick up your race packet before the event on Friday, December 7th, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm at Midwest Events, 1890 Whitaker Street, White Bear Lake, MN 55110 651-251-5494 and on race day (Saturday) morning December 7th at the VFWPost 1782, 4496 Lake Ave. South, White Bear Lake, MN, from 7:15 am to 8:30 am.. We will not mail race packets.
9. Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes, as long as they have a copy of your confirmation.
10. Do you accept credit cards for registration on race day?
Yes. We also accept cash and checks.
Jingle Bear 5K Race Information:
11. Will there be fluid aid water stations and first aid?
Water is available at the start/finish area. Light FIRST AID (band aids, ice, gauze, etc.) is available at the start/finish line area, but please do your part if a runner is in need. Please alert police or volunteers IMMEDIATELY if a runner is in need of assistance. Local authorities are aware of the race. All medical expense incurred by participants are the responsibility of the participant.
12. Where are start/finish lines and the event start times?
Start and Finish lines are along Lake Ave. South just between Tally’s and the VFW (see Race Route Map). Start time for Jingle Bear 5K is at 9 am.
The Kid's 150 Meter Fun Run will start at approximately 9:40 am.
13. Will there be chip timing?
Yes for the 5K but not for the Kid’s 150 Meter Fun Run.
14. Age Group Awards?
Age group awards will be given to the top three males and females in 10-year age group increments, from 19 yrs old & under to +70 yrs old and will be given out at the "Awards Ceremony" inside the VFW at 9:45 am. If you think you have won an award, please check the race results posted inside the VFW. If you are unable to wait for the official results you may have a friend pick up your award or pay to have it shipped or pick up the following day at Midwest Events.
